Matte Lips All Year Long!

A lot of us tend to steer away from that matte lip look during the winter months in an effort to avoid those dry cracked unsightly lips that we all know so well and tend to come hand in hand with the fluctuating temperatures...
Here are a few easy tricks to having that great matte look anytime:

1) Exfoliate your lips -
Always make sure that before you apply your lipstick that you are working on a nice smooth canvas. A natural and inexpensive way to do this is by mixing one tablespoon of honey with just enough sugar to achieve a body-scrub-like texture. Scrub the mixture on to your lips with a toothbrush. Your lips will look healthier and smoother.

2) Condition your lips regularly -
When lips are well moisturized lipstick glides on easier and wears longer. Avoid petroleum based products, they won't last as long and tend to make your lipstick slide off. Arbonne has a great one, their Lip Saver Lip Balm is made with safflower seed oil that will help leave your lips feeling soft and subtle... Dash will be carrying this product soon! So if you're interested in ordering just inbox us!
3) Instead of your traditional lipstick try a chubby pencil. These tend to have more of a creamier texture than a traditional lipstick. Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil is a good one to try.
Always remember... if your lips start feeling dried out after a few hours just dab some conditioner or good lip balm right over your lip colour, on the centre of your lips and rub together, your lips will look fabulous without that added shine!
