Like it or not, the human brain is hardwired to assess another person within the first 30 seconds of meeting them. Once that first impression is formed our opinion is rarely changed, leaving us little or no second change to make a new first impression. Studies have affirmed just how important first impressions are and how your personal image or how others perceive you can have detrimental effects on your personal and professional life.
Why are our braings hardwired this way? It has alot to do with the fact that our ancestors survival depended on it. Since they had no common language to rely on, within a blink of an eye they would have to determine whether the stranger approching them posed a threat. The skill still remains with us today, often affecting our present lives.
